I didn’t intend to go yard sailing last Saturday morning, but my itteh bitteh kitteh committeh got me up at 6:20, and I knew going back to bed would be pointless. Normally I’d get Sarah up to go with me, but it’s just as well I didn’t. I ended up with no room in my car on the way home.
I stopped for a paper and found out there was a neighborhood sale not too far away. I headed in that direction then, but stopped at other sales I just happened to see. Here’s my haul – for $65.
It includes this secretary, which I’ll be working on this weekend:
Isn’t that cool? I’m still taking color suggestions. The metal rack on the top has been removed, holes filled. Just need my inspiration.
She needed lots of cleanup, but I knew just what would make her look happy again – Mustard Seed Yellow! (With a matching drop cloth canvas seat!)
This chair could be my happy place.
THAT’S why I wanted neutral walls in my bedroom, so I could go nuts with the furniture colors!
I picked up this little chair at the neighborhood yard sale, and the owner told me it had belonged to her mother-in-law as a child. It was hard to pass up, even if it might not be sturdy enough for a child to sit in anymore.
I layered a couple of shades of MMS French Enamel to give it a beachy look – and I hope someone will enjoy adding it to their décor.
So have I inspired you to get up at the crack of dawn this Saturday? Want to borrow my kitteh committeh to help?
